Fertility Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine

During this session, you will have the opportunity to discuss your health history, and learn how acupuncture and integrative medicine can benefit fertility and related health concerns. Complimentary consultations are available in-person or via telehealth.

We encourage all of our fertility clients to book a complimentary consult if you would like to discuss your specific needs prior to scheduling an initial acupuncture appointment or initial fertility telehealth consultation.

Fertility clients benefit from a comprehensive approach to evaluating and treating many common conditions related to women's health and infertility. During this telehealth session, we will review your health history, relevant lab work, as well as develop a customized treatment plan. Integrative treatment plans may include acupuncture, nutritional counseling, herbal medicine, functional medicine testing, lifestyle modifications, as well as other modalities when appropriate. We will also work to optimize each cycle whether you are trying to conceive naturally or you are searching for an integrative therapy to complement IVF.

In addition to completing a health history in advance of your appointment, it will be helpful to gather any recent lab work that you may have had during your last annual exam or physician appointment. Please be sure to gather a list of all medications and supplements you are currently taking as well as a recent copy of any cycle protocol if you are going to begin or currently in the middle of an IVF or other assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycle.

All follow-up sessions combine acupuncture with adjunctive therapies such as nutritional counseling, herbal medicine, and massage therapy. Additionally, other Traditional Chinese Medicine therapeutics may be incorporated into follow-up acupuncture sessions such as tui na, gua sha, and cupping. Sessions also include a review of lifestyle recommendations and stress management techniques to benefit fertility, pregnancy, and beyond. We will work with you to schedule the timing of acupuncture sessions, before and after natural or ART cycles such as IVF. Follow-up fertility consultations may include a review of recent lab work, nutritional counseling, supplement and herbal medicine reviews, lifestyle recommendations, and stress management techniques to benefit fertility, pregnancy, and beyond. We believe that a team approach benefits our patients. As a result, we coordinate care with your health care providers or fertility clinic in the Boston and South Shore areas. This session focuses on the benefits of specific dietary practices found in research to benefit fertility. Food sensitivity testing is also available for clients to address delayed immune reactions to common foods, colorings, and additives. Chinese herbal medicine can be an important treatment tool for patients trying to conceive. Customized herbal formulas are prescribed according to each client's diagnosis and health condition. This session also integrates the use of food for medicine and reviews nutritional supplementation when appropriate.
